Today, my life has shifted dramatically - and refreshingly. I often work in quiet; when not, I’m surrounded by entrepreneurs, creativity, and freedom (no guard rails). I choose my work, colleagues, my partners, and my priorities. Silence, once rare, is now my most valuable resource. Clarity emerges when the noise fades, allowing me to think strategically and work thoughtfully. It took many years to realize that success doesn’t always mean “more.” - More often, it’s found in “less.”

For over 25 years, my professional life was a whirlwind of working countless hours and meetings, hundreds of employees, sometimes what felt like impossible goals (most often self inflicted). It was thrilling, adrenaline-filled and competitive - while shouldering high-stake decisions. Solitude and slow, logical thinking were luxuries I seldom experienced. Back then, an in-person meeting with five people felt intimate; a dozen or more was the daily norm. Yet, I thrived in that environment.

Those years taught me endurance, leadership, and navigating high-pressure situations (and qualities I developed that needed to change). The relentless pace was vital for growth. Looking back, I often wonder how I thrived and survived, but I’m deeply grateful for the lessons. I wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything.

Some might view my current projects and ambitions as many and complex, but they don’t compare to the amount and the intensity of my earlier career. Those first three decades were monumental. I deeply respect founders and CEOs who navigate that high-pressure world daily. It takes incredible strength and sacrifice to succeed in those conditions. I’m also deeply grateful for the partners, colleagues, and team riders who stood beside me through every challenge and triumph.

This new chapter and the rhythm of my life today are gifts. Those years shaped me, and gave me ability be here now but this season of my professional journey feels like the a gift. The irony is I still work tirelessly to be sure this peace remains sustainable. I am forever grateful to skateboarding and creativity for providing me with this incredible adventure.
